Do You Have a Handbag Fetish? Here's How to Tell!

Ok, ok, I admit it. I have an addiction. It's just not the kind of addiction you might think. I'm not hooked on strong drink or nicotine, no. I'm hooked on handbags! My closet is overflowing with my collection of bags, which range in price and style from my thrift shop finds to my DKNY bags. I have hobo bags, satchel bags, evening bags, clutch purses, backpacks...I may be guilty of what you might call a handbag fetish.

Oh, I love them all. I love the little sequined ones, and the big oversized ones. It takes me an hour just to figure out which purse I want to carry for the day. The handbag I choose must go well with my outfit and fit my mood. Some days I like my Louis Vuitton replica (sure, I might have a handbag fetish, but I'm still on a budget!), other days I carry my classic Etienne Aigner.

There are ways to fulfill your craving for purses without emptying your savings account. eBay is an absolutely fantastic place to find a wide variety of handbags. I've seen genuine Prada, Gucci and Fendi bags there being sold at a fraction of the retail price.

You can also find novelty purses, like ones that look like stuffed animals or even women's bustiers, complete with corset lacing! There are purses that are hand painted by talented artists. You can even request to have a portrait of your pet painted on your bag. Oh, and let's not forget one of the most innovative types of handbags I've seen lately -- the photo purse! You can have any photograph you want emblazoned onto any style or size of handbag.

I must say, out of all the addictions I could suffer from, I'm happy that mine is a handbag fetish. I mean, what other fetish can provide you with a closet full of gorgeous bags to match your every whim? My husband doesn't really understand why I insist on spending so much of my hard earned money on new purses. I just smile and tell him, it's a girl thing!
