Designer Purses - A Hot New Trend for Today's Young Women
I remember the days of my youth -- when the big trend in my school was denim purses. It seemed that every fashion-conscious girl in my high school carried a denim purse, and so did I! Luckily for our parents and limited teen budgets, denim purses were readily affordable and available. Designer purses were virtually unheard of to us.
However, it's different for today's teen girls. Names like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Prada are hot trends these days. In the more affluent neighborhoods, it's not uncommon for a sixteen-year-old girl to carry a $1000 purse to school. I don't know about you, but there's no way I'm buying my daughter a $1,000 purse. Even if I wanted to, my budget won't permit!
So, what's a frustrated parent to do when your teenage daughter begs for designer purses? Most parents just can't afford that kind of price. Plus, do you really want to risk sending your child out with that much money slung over their shoulder? Talk about a target for thieves! So, why not try a replica? Your daughter may be easily appeased with a bag that looks and feels like the real thing, but costs a lot less.
My teenage sister loves designer purses...however, the ones she owns are fake. My favorite one in her collection is her Louis Vuitton replica. It's barrel-shaped, in black leather with the Louis Vuitton logo all over the bag in bright, eye-catching colors. She carries it proudly everywhere she goes, and when someone asks her if it's the real thing, she only smiles and says, 'of course!'
My own taste in designer purses is a little more conservative. I have an affordable Etienne Aigner in supple burgundy leather that I carry each and every day. I also have a gorgeous Gucci replica in my closet that I bring out when I want to solicit envious stares when I go out! Only I know that the bag isn't a real Gucci. Well, me… and my husband. I can imagine the look on his face if I ever spent thousands of dollars on a purse! I love designer purses as much as the next girl, but even I have my limits!
